We at the Muraylands Aquatic centre are a division of the Department for Education Aquatics Program and have been operating at our current site since 1982. The advantages of our site, located some 5 kilometres downstream from Murray Bridge at Swanport,( just south of the south eastern freeway bridge) is its picturesque lawned setting alongside the River Murray. The 10 acre site is securely fenced and is not available to the public.
The Aquatic Centre has cabins and camping areas, a sailing club and 2 other kitchens.
Our range of activities and fully qualified instructors make us a very safe and unique experience for students wishing to learn a variety of activities all within one hour's drive of Adelaide.
Aims:
The provision of an efficient, cost effective and responsive specialist service to schools, to assist students develop a range of knowledge, skills and understanding about:
- Water safety
- Survival in the water
- Rescue of others
- Mobility in, on and around water
- Environment issues that impact on the river
